Returns & Refunds Policy

1. Introduction


This Returns & Refunds Policy outlines the terms under which Chameleon Inflatables handles returns, exchanges, repairs, and refunds. By purchasing from us, you agree to these terms.


2. General Policy


Chameleon Inflatables manufactures inflatable products to order. The rules below follow from that: cancellation and refund outcomes depend on what stage your order has reached.


Before production starts: you may cancel; an administrative fee (10% or R500, whichever is greater) applies, and the balance of your deposit is refunded.
After production has started: your deposit is non-refundable. No cash refund.
Standard product, completed and fully paid, not yet dispatched: you may cancel with a 15% restocking fee.
If we cancel (we cannot fulfil): full refund within 14 business days, no fee.
Damaged or defective on arrival: we repair inflatables free; we replace blowers and accessories free; we do not offer cash refunds for damaged product. Report within 48 hours.
Made-to-order cooling-off: the 7-day Consumer Protection Act cooling-off (section 44) does not apply to made-to-order inflatable products. It does apply to unmodified off-the-shelf items purchased online.

All refunds are paid to the same account the payment originated from.


3. Made-to-Order Exemption


As our products are manufactured to the customer's specifications, they are exempt from the cooling-off return right under Section 44 of the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA). This means the standard 7-day return window for online purchases does not apply to made-to-order inflatable products.


4. Damaged or Defective Products


If your product arrives damaged or has a manufacturing defect, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery or collection. We will assess the issue and offer the appropriate remedy:


Inflatable products (jumping castles, water slides, etc.) — we will repair the defect at no charge
Blowers and accessories — we will replace the item at no charge
Other products — assessed on a case-by-case basis depending on the product and nature of the damage

We do not offer cash refunds for damaged or defective goods. Our commitment is to ensure you receive a product in proper working condition through repair or replacement.


5. Reporting Damage or Defects


To report an issue with your product:

Describe the issue and, where possible, include photos via email or WhatsApp

We will respond promptly and arrange for inspection, repair, or replacement.


6. Failure to Deliver


If Chameleon Inflatables is unable to manufacture or deliver your order for any reason, you are entitled to a full refund of all payments made, including your deposit. Refunds in these circumstances will be processed within 14 business days.


7. Return Transport


Where a return or repair is accepted, the customer is responsible for transporting the product back to our workshop in Fourways, Gauteng. We do not cover return shipping or transport costs.


For carry-in warranty repairs, the same transport policy applies as outlined in our Warranty Policy.


8. Cancellations


Cancellation rules track the Terms & Conditions §5:


Before production starts: cancel with a 10% (or R500, whichever is greater) administrative fee; balance of deposit refunded.
After production has started: deposit is non-refundable.
Standard product, fully paid, not yet dispatched: 15% restocking fee, balance refunded.
Chameleon-initiated cancellation: full refund within 14 business days, no fee.

In all cases, rescheduling (rather than cancellation) is encouraged where it works for you — see Terms & Conditions §5.5.


9. Blower Warranty


Blowers supplied with our inflatables are covered by the supplier's warranty. If your blower is defective, contact us directly — we will handle the warranty claim with the supplier on your behalf and arrange a replacement.
