Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about ordering, paying, and owning a Chameleon inflatable

Customization & Design

Yes! We use advanced **CAD technology** to design your inflatable, and our **CNC cutter** delivers accurate cuts. Custom orders typically take **30 to 40 working days** from payment receipt.

Yes! You can personalize the colors of any jumping castle from our existing range, usually at **no extra charge**. Simply let our office know your color preferences when placing your order.

Yes! Your branding is printed on durable PVC banner material and attached using **Velcro**, ensuring a secure yet removable fit. This allows you to easily change or replace the prints without returning the entire inflatable to our factory.

No, you'll need to provide print-ready artwork in a high-resolution format (PDF, AI, or EPS). You can choose where the branding goes on your castle. The printing cost depends on the size and will be included in your quotation. If you don't have print-ready artwork, we can refer you to a graphic designer.

Delivery & Lead Times

Castles from our Regular Range: 14 to 21 working days from payment receipt
Giant Inflatables or Custom Designs: 21 to 30 working days from payment receipt

These are estimated timeframes and we often complete orders ahead of schedule.

Yes! We ship throughout South Africa and internationally.

Gauteng: Delivery and collection for a flat rate of R 350.00
Other areas/international: Contact our office with your full address for an accurate quote
Collection: Free from our factory in Fourways, Johannesburg
Gauteng deliveries: Delivered same day as dispatch. Our office will coordinate a suitable date and time.

Delays may occur due to material shortages or high demand. If a delay arises, we'll notify you as soon as possible with an updated status and do everything we can to expedite your order.

For international orders, you as the client are responsible for handling customs clearance, including any duties or taxes. We'll provide all necessary documentation—such as invoices and shipping details—to make the customs process as smooth as possible.

Very occasionally delivery is delayed by circumstances outside our control — extreme weather, load shedding, transport disruptions, or supply shortages. This is covered by the **force majeure** clause in our Terms & Conditions §12.

In such cases:

We will notify you as soon as possible with the cause and the revised timeline.
We reserve the right to reschedule delivery at a mutually agreed time.
No cancellation penalty applies if the delay is material and you choose not to wait.

Alongside Big 5 Canvas and Tents, they are part of a group committed to delivering high-quality products and services across the inflatable, tent, and canvas industries.

Chameleon Inflatables specializes in manufacturing and selling a diverse range of inflatables, including marketing inflatables and inflatable spray booths.

Since **2012**. We started as a small operation with just one sewing machine, sketching designs in a notebook. Today, we operate a large factory with numerous sewing machines, two welding machines, and a state-of-the-art CNC textile cutting machine.

Yes — please book an appointment in advance. We don't keep jumping castles in stock for viewing as each one is made to order, and a booking ensures someone is available to show you around.

When you arrive, our team will brief you on our workshop safety rules:

Closed-toe shoes are required in the factory at all times.
Visitors must be **accompanied** by a staff member throughout the visit.
Please follow any evacuation instructions if an alarm sounds during your visit.

If an in-person visit isn't convenient, you can explore our full range through photos in our online catalogue.

Local Manufacturing: We use locally produced, commercial-grade PVC (550 g/m²)
Advanced Technology: CNC cutting and CAD design tools for precision
Expert Craftsmanship: Double-stitched seams, welded reinforcements, over a decade of experience
Flexible Service: Custom branding with removable Velcro panels, nationwide and international delivery

**Workshop hours:** Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00. Closed Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.

**December shutdown:** We close for approximately 3–4 weeks over the festive season, typically from shortly before Christmas until mid-January. Exact dates are confirmed on our website roughly 6 weeks in advance. Please plan bulk or time-critical orders well ahead of the shutdown.

**After hours:** Please email and we will respond the next working day.

We take data protection seriously and comply with the **Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)**. In brief:

We collect only what is needed to fulfil your order and manage our relationship — name, contact details, address, order history.
We **do not sell or rent your personal information** to anyone.
We share data only with trusted third-party operators who work on our behalf — couriers, payment gateways, accountants, hosting providers — each bound by an operator agreement under POPIA.
Retention follows a set schedule (e.g. tax records 5 years, enquiries without purchase 24 months, customer records archived after 5 years of inactivity).
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information — email us to exercise these rights.

Ordering & Payment

Ordering a jumping castle from Chameleon Inflatables is simple and straightforward. Follow these steps:

1. **Contact Us:** Reach out to our team via phone, email, or our website's contact form to discuss your needs and get a quote.

2. **Confirm Your Order:** Once you've chosen your inflatable, we'll provide you with an order summary and payment details.

3. **Pay the Deposit:** We require a 70% deposit to secure your order and begin production.

4. **Final Payment:** The remaining 30% is due before delivery or pickup.

5. **Delivery:** After full payment, we'll arrange for your jumping castle to be delivered or made available for pickup.

It depends on where your order is in our production flow:

**Before production begins:** Contact us as soon as possible. An administrative fee applies (the greater of 10% of the order value or R500). The balance of your deposit is refunded to the same account the payment came from.

**After production has started:** Your deposit is non-refundable — materials are cut and assembly is under way. We will not require the remaining 30% if you choose to cancel at this stage.

**After full payment, but before dispatch (standard products only):** You may cancel with a 15% restocking fee. The balance is refunded.

**If Chameleon cancels** (we are unable to fulfil your order): You receive a full refund of all payments within 14 business days, with no fee.

All refunds are paid back to the same account the payment came from. Full detail in our Terms & Conditions §5.

Yes! We provide layby plans of **3, 6, or 12 months**, allowing you to spread payments over a period that suits your budget.

The 70% deposit required to start manufacturing is included in your layby schedule.
You'll make regular payments toward this amount, and production will begin only once your payments reach the 70% mark.
Once your final payment has cleared, your jumping castle or water slide will be ready for delivery or pickup.

We accept:

EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer): Securely transfer funds directly from your bank account to ours.
Card Payments: We accept major credit and debit cards.
Cash: Payments in cash are also accepted, particularly for in-person transactions or pickups.

**Before Production Begins:** If you'd like to modify your order—such as changing the design, size, or quantity—you can do so provided we haven't started manufacturing yet.

**After Production Starts:** Once production has begun, we're unable to make changes as materials are cut and resources are committed specifically to your order.

Reach out to our team immediately if you're considering a change.

Beyond our layby options, we do not currently provide other financing plans. You can complete your order using EFT, card payments, or cash, whichever suits you best.

The 70% deposit secures your place in our production schedule and covers the initial costs of materials and labour allocated specifically to your order. Whether it is refundable depends on where your order is:

If you cancel before production begins: An administrative fee applies (the greater of 10% of the order value or R500), and the balance of your deposit is refunded.
Once production has started: Your deposit is non-refundable — materials have been cut and work is under way.
If Chameleon is unable to fulfil your order (a situation within our control): You receive a full refund of all payments within 14 business days, with no fee.

All refunds are paid back to the same account the original payment came from. Full detail in our Terms & Conditions §5.

Yes, in certain circumstances. The short version:

If Chameleon cancels (we cannot fulfil your order): Full refund of all payments within 14 business days.
You cancel before production begins: Admin fee applies (greater of 10% or R500); balance of deposit refunded.
You cancel after production has started: Deposit is non-refundable.
Standard product, completed and fully paid, but not yet dispatched: 15% restocking fee; balance refunded.
Damaged or defective on arrival: Repair (inflatable) or replacement (blower / accessories) — no cash refund, but no charge.
Custom / made-to-order goods: Exempt from the CPA's 7-day cooling-off under Section 44.

All refunds are paid back to the same account the original payment came from. Full detail in our Terms & Conditions §5 and Returns & Refunds Policy.

All refunds are paid back to the **same account the original payment came from** — whether that's the bank account you EFT'd from, the card you paid with, or the gateway you used.

We do not refund to a different bank account, even on request. This rule protects both parties against fraud.

Refunds approved by our Director are typically processed within **5 business days**. We'll let you know once the refund is sent so you can watch for it on your statement.

Yes — we take payment security seriously:

Online payments go through PCI-compliant gateways (PayFast, Peach Payments, DPO, or PayPal) on their own hosted payment pages. We never store your card numbers on our systems.
In-person card payments use a bank-provided PCI-certified POS terminal.
EFT payments: Our bank details are on every proforma and invoice. If you receive an invoice with different banking details from any source, please phone us to verify before paying — this is to protect against business-email-compromise (BEC) fraud.
Gateway credentials are encrypted in our systems at rest.

See our Payment Security Policy for the full detail.

Safety & Usage

Our inflatables are designed for use in winds up to **25 km/h**. Above this threshold the structure becomes unstable, and damage to the castle or injury to users becomes a real risk.

Check the wind forecast before any event. If winds exceed or are forecast to exceed 25 km/h:

Stop use immediately.
Remove users before deflation.
Deflate and secure the inflatable.
Reschedule the event if possible.

Damage caused by use in winds above 25 km/h is excluded from our warranty.

For safe use and to protect your inflatable:

Wind: Do not use in winds above 25 km/h. Secure or deflate as winds rise. This is also a warranty exclusion — see our Warranty Policy.
Rain and storms: Do not use in rain, lightning, or hail. Water makes jump surfaces dangerously slippery, and blowers are not weatherproof.
Heat: Avoid use in ambient temperatures above 35°C — PVC softens and wear accelerates.
Direct sun for extended periods: Prolonged exposure fades colours over time. This is normal wear, not a warranty item — but you can extend the life of your castle by using it in shaded or overcast conditions where possible.

Weather damage (wind, storm, lightning, hail, flooding) is excluded from the warranty.

Before every use:

1. **Inspect** the inflatable for damage — tears, loose seams, faulty valves, worn anchor points.

2. **Choose the site** — flat, clean, free of sharp objects, well away from water, fire, BBQs, and electrical lines.

3. **Clearance** — at least **2 metres** of clear space on all sides and overhead.

4. **Anchoring** — always required, without exception:

- On grass: proper anchor stakes at every anchor point.

- On hard surfaces: sandbags of at least **15 kg each** at every anchor point.

5. **Blower** — connect and keep running continuously during use. Never disconnect the blower with users inside.

6. **Supervision** — a sober, attentive adult supervisor is present before any user enters. See "Who should supervise users?"

Skipping anchoring or clearance is one of the most common causes of serious incidents — never take shortcuts here.

Every inflatable in use needs active adult supervision:

At least one sober, attentive adult per inflatable at all times while users are inside.
The supervisor's attention must be on the users — **not on a phone, book, or conversation**.
Separate users by age:

- **Under 3s:** with a supervising adult inside, separate from older children.

- **3–7 year olds:** separate session from older or bigger children.

- **Older / larger children:** supervised for safe behaviour — no flips, somersaults, climbing on walls, or rough-housing.

Users under the influence of alcohol or drugs are never permitted.

Remove shoes, jewellery, sharp objects, glasses (where possible), and empty pockets before entering the inflatable.

For safety, the following people should NOT use an inflatable jumping castle:

Anyone **under the influence** of alcohol or drugs.
Pregnant women — the jumping motion carries a risk of injury to both mother and baby.
People with **back, neck, or spinal injuries**.
People with **heart conditions**.
People prone to **seizures** or **epilepsy**.
Anyone feeling unwell, dizzy, or lightheaded at the time.

If in doubt, consult a medical professional before use.

Proper storage protects your warranty and extends the life of the product:

1. **Clean** the surface of dust, mud, and debris before packing.

2. **Dry thoroughly** — storing damp or wet causes mould and seam damage.

3. **Pack** into the supplied carry bag without sharp folds or undue pressure.

4. **Store** in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, out of direct sunlight.

5. **Keep away from** sharp objects, chemicals, solvents, rodents, and pets.

Storing while damp, stacking heavy items on top, or leaving the inflatable exposed to pests is considered improper storage and may affect warranty coverage.

If someone is injured — or anything dangerous happens — while using one of our products, please:

1. **Prioritise safety.** Get medical attention for anyone injured. Emergency services: **10177** (landline) or **112** (mobile).

2. **Preserve the product.** Do not dispose of, repair, or alter it. We will arrange for inspection.

3. **Contact us immediately** — call **+27 83 589 0574** or email sales@chameleoninflatables.co.za.

Please include: what happened, when, where, who was affected, photos if safe to take, and any medical attention sought.

Our Director handles every product-safety matter personally. We take these reports extremely seriously — your honest account helps us learn and keep others safe.

Yes — our inflatables are suitable for commercial rental, schools, day-cares, and entertainment venues.

If you use one of our products commercially, you are responsible for:

Complying with all applicable South African health, safety, and business regulations.
Carrying appropriate **public liability insurance**.
Training your staff in safe setup, anchoring, supervision, and takedown.
Providing safe usage instructions to end-users.
Routine inspection and maintenance.

Our warranty covers personal and commercial use equally — the coverage is identical. For high-volume rental operators, ask us about our service plan (available to registered SA Jumping Castles vendors).

Personal and commercial use are covered identically.

For the full list of what's covered and excluded, see our Warranty Policy and the FAQ "What is NOT covered by the warranty?"

The warranty covers:

Defects in Workmanship: Errors in assembly or construction during manufacturing
Defects in Materials: Problems from faulty or substandard materials

Email: sales@chameleoninflatables.co.za

Include photos of the damage and, where relevant, photos of the packaging as it arrived. We'll respond promptly and arrange:

Inflatable: Repair at no charge.
Blower or accessories: Replacement at no charge.

Reporting outside the 48-hour window makes it difficult to distinguish damage in transit from subsequent use, and may affect the remedy available. See our Returns & Refunds Policy for full details.
