Repair & Service Terms

Version 1.0Updated: 04 May 2026

1. Introduction

These Repair & Service Terms govern the paid repair services offered by Chameleon Inflatables. These terms apply to all repairs that fall outside of warranty cover (see our Warranty Policy) and to repairs of inflatables not originally manufactured by us.

2. What We Repair

We offer repair services for a wide range of inflatable products:

Jumping castles and bounce houses
Water slides and water-based inflatables
Interactive attractions and sports inflatables
Commercial inflatables and obstacle courses
Tarpaulins, ground sheets, and related accessories

Inflatables From Any Manufacturer

We are happy to repair inflatables that were not originally manufactured by Chameleon Inflatables, subject to inspection. In rare cases we may decline a repair if:

The materials or construction require parts we do not stock
The product is beyond economical repair
The damage is so extensive that safe restoration cannot be guaranteed

If we decline a repair, we will explain why and where possible suggest alternative options.

3. Common Repair Types

We handle all common inflatable repair types, including:

Puncture and small tear repairs
Seam repairs and re-stitching
Zipper replacement
Velcro replacement or re-stitching
Valve replacement
Netting and mesh repair or replacement
Reinforcement patching
Blower housing and wiring issues

For less common or complex issues (major structural damage, design modifications, or custom rebuilds), we will assess and quote based on the specific work required.

4. Pricing Structure

Fixed Rates

Common repair types are offered at standard fixed rates. These rates are published in our repair types list (available on request or in our online quote system) and cover straightforward repairs where the scope of work is predictable.

Custom Quotes

More complex or extensive repairs are quoted individually after inspection. A custom quote takes into account:

The nature and extent of the damage
Materials and parts required
Estimated labour time
Any specialised work needed

Custom quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued.

Quotation Before Work Begins

No repair work begins until the customer has:

1. Received and accepted a quote (whether standard rate or custom)

2. Made payment in full

5. Payment Terms

Full payment is required upfront before repair work begins.

Payment can be made by EFT or online via our payment gateways
We use your order/repair reference as your payment reference
Once payment is confirmed, your repair is scheduled into our workshop queue
No work begins until payment has cleared

6. Inspection & Assessment

Before a repair can be quoted or scheduled, we need to inspect the item. This can happen in one of two ways:

Drop-Off Inspection

The customer delivers the item to our workshop at 14 Pommery Road, Fourways
We inspect and provide a quote, usually within 2 working days
The item remains at our workshop pending the customer's decision to proceed

Remote Inspection

The customer sends clear photos of the damage via email or WhatsApp
We provide an estimated quote based on the photos
Note: estimated quotes from photos are subject to confirmation once the item is physically inspected at our workshop. Final quotes may differ.

7. Turnaround Time

Repair turnaround depends on complexity, workshop workload, and parts availability:

Simple repairs (punctures, small seam repairs): typically 3–5 working days
Moderate repairs (zipper replacement, multiple seam repairs): typically 5–10 working days
Major repairs (significant structural work, rebuilds): quoted case-by-case, typically 10–20 working days

These are estimates. Actual turnaround may vary based on workshop capacity, material availability, and unforeseen complexity discovered during the repair. We will keep you informed of any significant delays.

8. Collection & Delivery

Collection from workshop: Free. You will be notified when your repair is ready.
Delivery: Available at standard delivery rates (see our Shipping & Delivery Policy)
The repaired item must be collected or delivery arranged within 30 days of completion. Storage fees may apply thereafter.

9. Transport to Workshop

The customer is responsible for transporting the item to our workshop. If transport is difficult, we can quote a collection fee at our standard delivery rates.

10. Repair Warranty

All repair work carried out by Chameleon Inflatables is covered by a 3-month warranty against the same failure occurring in the repaired area.

What the Repair Warranty Covers

The specific repaired area failing in the same way within 3 months of the repair date
Manufacturing-type defects in the repair work (stitching coming apart, patches lifting)

What the Repair Warranty Does Not Cover

New damage to a different area of the product
Damage caused by misuse, accidents, or wear after the repair
Failure due to continued use of a product with known additional damage not addressed during the repair
Any damage covered by the exclusions in our Warranty Policy

Repair Warranty Claims

If a repaired area fails within the 3-month period:

1. Contact us within the warranty period

2. Provide proof of the original repair (invoice or job reference)

3. Send photos of the issue

4. We will assess and, if confirmed to be covered, redo the repair at no charge

11. Products Beyond Economical Repair

Sometimes an inflatable has reached the end of its useful life. If we assess a product and determine it is beyond economical repair:

We will explain our findings and the reasons
We will quote what a repair would cost, even if we recommend against it, so you can make an informed decision
We may suggest replacement options from our product range
You are under no obligation to proceed

If you choose not to proceed, we will return the product. Transport back to you remains at your cost.

12. Items Unclaimed

If a repaired or assessed item remains uncollected and unpaid (where applicable) for:

60 days after notification: we will issue a final reminder
90 days after notification: the item may be disposed of or sold to recover storage and handling costs

We will always make reasonable attempts to contact you before any such action.

13. Liability for Repaired Items

While your item is at our workshop, we take reasonable care to prevent damage or loss
In the unlikely event of loss or damage while in our care, our liability is limited to the reasonable repair or replacement cost of the item
We recommend customers carry their own insurance for items of significant value

14. Additional Services

In addition to standard repairs, we offer:

Service inspections — full check-up for wear, damage, and safety concerns
Rebranding — applying new logos or graphics to existing products (quoted per job)
Custom modifications — alterations to existing inflatables (e.g. adding features, changing configurations)

For ongoing repair cover, consider enrolling in a Service Plan (see our Service Plan Terms).

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Repair & Service Terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your repair are the ones in effect on the date you accept your quote. Any changes will be posted on our website.
